It has been a great year for TruEnergy’s metering department, having become a live user of the DCC smart network, we began our rollout of SMETS2 meters at the beginning of Q2 this year to great effect for our customers.
Under sections 44A and 38A of the Electricity and Gas Supply Licence Conditions, all suppliers are required to forecast and report on the progress of their smart metering rollouts. As part of this reporting, it gives us great pleasure to announce that not only have we met the current Ofgem targets, we have exceeded our targets by over 300%!
TruEnergy’s target as agreed with Ofgem was to install at least 159 electricity and 186 gas SMETS2 smart meters by 31/12/2022.
In total during 2022, TruEnergy installed 768 electricity & 611 gas SMETS2 meters.
This was over and above even our internal targets for smart meter installations of 250 meters of each type.
We would like to extend our thanks to our meter operator partners AES Metering for making this possible.
Looking ahead to 2023
As we move into the new year we are now looking ahead to another great year for our smart meter rollout. We have been diligently planning our strategy to maintain our high performance in this area. This includes agreeing to a new forecast with Ofgem for 2023.
TruEnergy’s target as agreed with Ofgem for this coming year is to install at least 341 electricity & 683 gas SMETS2 meters.
With our previous success in this area, we are confident our metering specialists are up to the challenge and are looking forward to making significant progress with our smart metering rollout into 2023.
